    The first phase of a comprehensive training program in Arbitration entitled "Your way to become an arbitrator" for the year 2009-2010 will start at Asharqia Chamber on October 12-15, 2009. The first phase will focus on basic rules of arbitration.
     
    Mr. Adnan A. Al Nueim, Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber, disclosed that the training program organized by the Chamber in cooperation with theGulf States Center for Commercial Arbitration has been divided into five phases.  

    He said that it is a practical training program which has been organized with the primary objective of developing the legal and judicial skills among the lawyers relating to the arbitration process. It will also highlight the arbitration basics as a special judicial system and procedures of arbitration and its mechanism.

    Mr Al Nueim noted that the first phase of this training program will cover several areas, including arbitration and its types and how it is different from the others judicial systems like conciliation and settlement. It also cover various types of arbitrations such as free arbitration, international arbitration, arbitration with conciliation as well as the issues relating to the agreement arbitration (arbitration condition, arbitration agreement,format, content, parties), and the validity conditions of the arbitration agreement (competence of the parties to the arbitration agreement, permissibility of arbitration place, determining the place subject to arbitration, writing the arbitration agreement) and the implications of the arbitration agreement (jurisdiction - litigation), and finally the expiration of the arbitration agreement (invalidity of the arbitration agreement.
